Periodization Preview

Want an easy overview of all the studies ever conducted on periodization? Look no further!

I know it’s been a while since I published something on this site.

Fear not.

I decided I wanted to write something about periodization.  As is my habit, a little project turned into a big project, and I found myself seeking out and reading every study on periodization ever published (about ~550 pages worth of studies, and 51 studies in total).  Combined with the 20-30 pages I write for MASS each month, that’s left me with essentially no time to write for this site.

However, this month of MASS is in the books (the writing, at least), and I finally have all of the periodization studies done and coded, so I can finally start writing this behemoth.

We have quite a few awesome guest articles in the pipeline as well.  The site has been a ghost town for a while, but it’s about to spring back to life.

In the meantime, if you want to poke around in the spreadsheet I made of all the studies, you can snag it here.  DO NOT request access – make a copy or download it.  You can also view it here as a web page (probably easier on mobile).  If I missed a study or messed something up, feel free to let me know!  If there are questions you want me to answer in the article, leave a comment – I’ll look into them and answer them if there’s enough data.
